Review of Big Fat Liar (2002) by Movie K — 14 Jul 2011

This is actually better than I expected. Frankie Muniz is a junior high-school who likes to lie. His skateboard is taken away by bullies and he is late for class. Climbing through the window, he get best friend Amanda Bynes to distract the teacher Sandra Oh away.

She ask him for the essay and he lie his father is hospitalize. Again he fake the number to his phone and lie. His parents come and Sandra says he either submit the essay within 3 hours or attend summer school.

Such a good liar, he manage to complete it. Riding bicycle on the way he knock onto the limo of Paul Giamatti, a movie producer. Frankie left his essay in his car. Paul read it and turn it into a upcoming hit movie.

Frankie couldn't make Sandra or his parents believe it is his essay. He ask Amanda to go LA find Paul. At the airport, the duo pretend to be the client of limo driver Donald Faison. When Frankie reach Paul, he want him to call his father and say it was his essay.

Paul purposely burnt the essayand callin guards to take him away. The next day, Donald find them and want his money. When he know the duo is after Paul, he backs them. Donald is an actor who is humilated by Paul not long ago.

Frankie has stolen his organizer and he follow the schedule. Paul rejected veteran stunt co-ordinator Lee Majors off day for grandson birthday. The duo dye his pool with blue colour and orange dye in shampoo, put glue on his handphone earpiece.

Amanda call his PA Amanda Detmar and give the address of the party instead of the investors. Paul turns up been mistaken for the clown and is beat up by the kids. The duo mess his car wires. When Paul accidentally knock onto a big foot wheel, the driver turns around and crush his car.

Paul manage to make the boss to give one last chance, saying he is thinking of the idea whole day. Frankie deal with him to provide idea and he do what he says. After the successful pitch, the duo are whisk away by security.

Amanda decide to help them. Frankie call his parent sna dadmit what has happen. They gather all the workers who hates Paul. The limo service pretend to break down halfway. The actor pass by and fetch him but is a speed demon.

Paul jump out in desert. Lee take a helicopter fetch him but got "malfunction" Paul got to cling onto him to parachute. When Paul reach the set, Frankie lure him with his toy monkey doll. Evetually at the rooftop, Paul blurted out everything, and is caught in many angles camera.

His career is over. The movie still goes on with Donald getting the lead role, Amanda produce it and Frankie get credited. Paul become birthday clown and his first client is the party of the monster truck son.
