Review of Big Eyes (2014) by Peter B — 25 Dec 2014
The story is fascinating, the movie just doesn't quite know what to do with it. It spends way too much time showing Margaret lose her self respect as an artist and the cartoon villainy of Walter. It rushes through the topic of the commercialization of art and the court case that decides the outcome.
Adams is good as always, though it's hard to like her character despite her artistic talent. Waltz overacts to an almost embarrassing degree. In all I expected much more from Tim Burton and his actors.
