Review of Big Eyes (2014) by Brian C — 18 May 2015
An enjoyable "based on true events" film. Burton has, at least for now, expelled the Burton-isms that dominate most of his earlier works. The narrative is pretty straight forward. Amy Adams is a stand out in this, and I hated Christoph Waltz in this.
Not just his character but his performance. Over the top and hammy, something you would find in earlier Burton films, but seems out of place here.
