Review of Big Eyes (2014) by James R — 06 Apr 2016

A film about real life artist Margaret Keane (Amy Adams) who drew pictures of girls with big eyes. The film is actually about how her husband during the time period of the 50's Walter (Christoph Waltz) took all the credit for Margaret's work and said it was his own.

The film goes through the big lie they told and how eventually Margaret wanted to express herself and take credit for what she deserves. The film moves a bit slow and overall, it just doesn't go to many places.

What I mean by that is basically my little summary is the entire film. I never really enjoyed the main characters. Adams is dull as the lead and Waltz himself is just a bit too over the top (especially in a later court room scene which is just bizarre).

The movie has a slight Burton touch to it (blown colors and over the top characters), but I kind of see how people have already forgotten about this film. I'd say its a rent if it interests ya, but for most other people this is a skip.
