Review of Big Eyes (2014) by Anders A — 01 Jan 2017
Charmingly melodramatic, it has all the quirks and colors a Tim Burton film would offer. The real messages and compelling acting by its two leads set on a background story that injects surrealism and silliness to it, likens it to a painting beautifully abstract but grounded in its themes.
This is as true-to-life a Tim Burton film can get. It's almost a sort of escapist biopic who doesn't take itself to seriously. This is certainly for those audiences who wants to see a true story but doesn't want their foreheads to get all wound up.
