With Sandler trying to be a good father we have a slightly more complex character than played previously in Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison. Although we have a bit more of a human character, we have less laughs as well.
This movie also continues to cement Rob Schneider's role as the on going loser sidekick in Sandler films.
