Terrible film. I like Paul Giamatti, but who cares about what happens to a highly unlikable character and his seemingly haphazard and unsuitable marriages to women who are really totally out of his league? I assume that the novel has a much more interesting plot and well-developed characters as it seems to be highly acclaimed, but having watched this movie, I will never give it a chance.
