Review of Big (1988) by Mike L — 26 Aug 2009
Magical, sweet and hilarious. Tom Hanks is tremendous here, stepping into smaller shoes by playing a kid who is transformed into an adult overnight. The film is light but fluid, it never gets bogged down like it could (it is tremendously written), and has a great supporting cast.
The film is a calling card to: a) those adults who seemed to have lost their inner child and treat life as too serious a game, and b) for those kids that want to grow up faster not realizing the time they have as a kids is more important than it seems.
