Review of Beyond Re-Animator (2003) by Garrett T — 22 Oct 2008
Gonna have to be honest, with the exception of Jeffrey Combs being perfect yet again in his role as Dr. Herbert West, this film begins as quite a turd. Most noticably with the horribly dubbed voices of all the spanish actors.
It's clear they are speaking English however it doesn't quite match up. After watching the special features, its clear their accents got in the way and were obvious. However, the film makes up for itself (somewhat) with getting more and more rediculous.
If House of Re-Animator ever happens (or any further re-animator sequel happens), Stuart Gordon NEEDS to be the one directing and Brian Yunza needs to stay in the Producer's chair because he can't do both.
Only watch if you are a die hard Herbert West fan. Next to everything else is painful but it becomes strangly satisfying.
