Review of Beyond Re-Animator (2003) by Becky D — 10 Dec 2007
I understand that introducing the concept of Nanoplasm as a tool for moving the overall narative of the series forward but for me it doesn't work. I prefer West's creations to be drooling idiots, constantly on the rampage. That said, the guy who got chopped in half was fairly entertaining.
I thought the young Dr was just annoying and the re-animated penis was rubbish when compared with previous series highlights like the hand-eyeball combo. And the prison warden bad guy? Meh - give me some Dr. Hill with bat wings anyday.
Nowhere near the previous two but a few comedy moments just about make the film worth seeing. Hope they try a lot harder next time.
