Review of Beyond Borders (2003) by Erika B — 05 Jun 2007
Okay. This movie got really bad ratings and honestly, I really cannot see why. Yes, Angelina Jolie is one of my favorites and Clive Owen is a good actor. I saw this movie before I ever knew about him though.
Despite all this, I saw it in middle school and although I was aware of the horrors out there in the world, seeings this for the very first time was not only one of the first real tear jerkers I ever experienced in a movie, but was a real EYE OPENER.
It really strikes you in the heart and moves you. The romantic affair is sort of a side thing, but all the humanitarian work and seeing the experiences people had togothrough in Ethiopa, Cambodia (that´s wear Maddox is from ppl), and stuff was pretty damn stunning.
WATCH IT. Will remain one of my absolutely favorites.
