Review of Bewitched (2005) by Vineet A — 11 Jun 2010
Bewitched takes a classic sitcom as a basis and contrives a brilliantly fresh premise. Sadly the film looses it's energy about halfway through when it tries to pass as a romantic comedy.
Will Ferrell can always be counted on for his comic brilliance and Nicole Kidman is as cute as ever in her "straight" role, but even with the addition of an excellent supporting cast including Michael Caine, Steve Carell and David Alan Grier, this one is still a little short of adrenaline as it approaches the finish line.
The film does pay adequate respect to the television series it is based on and is most certainly worth a rental; Just not a keeper.
