Review of Beverly Hills Cop (1984) by Rocky R — 29 Apr 2014

I think that this movie is a little bit overrated. It's no funnier to me than lesser-appreciated Murphy films such as Coming to America. It has all of the qualities of a typical 80s comedy; it has its funny moments, it has several dragged out parts, and it really tries to show off the excess of the decade.

I still enjoyed it, and I would watch it again if some friends suggested it, but I don't see why so many people put it head and shoulders above other 80s comedies.
