Eddie Murphy makes it so hard to remember how talented he used to be with all of the trash he puts out nowadays. For me, Beverly Hills Cop is the pinnacle of 80's comedy, making you laugh out loud, but doing it subtly enough so that the plot still stands at the forefront.

The plot may not be to complicated and very predictable, but Eddie Murphy sells every second of it in his interactions with the other characters. It gets a bit cheesy towards the end, but it certainly does come full circle in more ways than one.

It may just be a genre film, but it's one hell of a genre film. Bottom line, I'd recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys laughing, but to the younger crowd who expects this to be like Haunted Mansion, think again.
