Review of Better Things (2008) by Craig B — 14 Mar 2009
Hopkins tosses out every aspect of standardised scenes and narrows them down to the inexpressible, intimate and sometimes awkward moments. On their own these certainly are effective, but it is only when you get an overview of the whole film do all strings of the web come together and you are painted such a rich, vast picture of the subtleties and precarious misunderstandings of life.
A real find here.
