A documentary about "Troll 2", considered by many to be the worst movie ever made, had to have been a fascinating endeavor because it must have taken some pretty unique people to deliver a film so awful, yet so hilarious and perversely entertaining.

Directed by Michael Stephenson, who delivered a terrible performance as the lead kid in "Troll 2" (though to be fair, EVERYONE involved delivered a terrible performance), "Best Worst Movie" has to be the most compelling examination of the mindset that goes into making a movie that bad, and the inexplicable reasons why such a notoriously awful film can turn into a popular cult phenomenon.

This could have easily just been a routine "making of" documentary, but "Best Worst Movie" turns into so much more because virtually everyone that's featured here is very colourful and interesting, both in good and bad ways.

The actor from "Troll 2" who gets the most camera time is George Hardy because he is just a likable and energetic guy and totally embraces his new-found cult following; other people involved in "Troll 2" are just hilariously weird, like the ultra-bizarre leading lady Margo Prey, and Don Packard, a former mental patient who got a role in the movie and could barely comprehend what was going on while he was filming it! "Best Worst Movie" is often at its most hilarious when focusing on eccentric "Troll 2" director Claudio Fragasso, who legitimately did think he was making a great movie!
