Review of Best Worst Movie (2009) by Ken S — 04 Sep 2012
Unlike the subject matter of this documentary, this film about the phenomenon of the film "Troll 2", it's cast and crew, the effect it had on their lives, and the impact the film has made with audiences who love terrible movies, specifically this one.
While this documentary is entertaining and funny, it also somehow manages to take something as ridiculous and bad and confusing as "Troll 2", and make your heart just warm up...this documentary has a story, and arc, and a soul.
..and you really feel like someone like George Hardy really grew from the experience...not of making "Troll 2", but of reliving it during the making of this documentary. It should be noted that the director of this wasn't some uber-fan of the movie.
..but the child lead star of the film...and because of his connection and closeness to the project, as well as his long time embarressment of his own involvement in it, I think it helps make this documentary as good as it is.
Definitely recommended to all film fans, not just those who have seen or enjoyed "Troll 2".
