Review of Best of Enemies (2015) by Tommy K — 07 Jan 2016
One of the underlying points of the film is that the Buckley/Gore debate was the dawning of a new age of television punditry. It's somewhat fitting since the documentary essentially feels like a television show.
This is a perfectly fine and entertaining doc but it's not a particularly interesting one. There's a flatness to it. This feels like an episode of AMERICAN MASTERS on PBS. Simply put, it just doesn't seem very cinematic.
