Review of Bernie (2012) by Josh W — 12 Jan 2013
Richard Linklater manages to combine pseudo-documentary elements (by juxtaposing commentary from the actual townspeople in between scenes), dark comedy, and drama to create a compelling morality tale led by the best performance Jack Black has ever given, as well as one of the last great roles of easy-going character actor Rick Dial, even though the film as a whole was a bit slow at times.
