This is one interesting and weird story/film. While I came to see Jack Black act (properly for the first time in his career - and he wasnt half bad to be honest); to see Shirley MacLaine do her thing (which isnt very often these days) and to see Matthew McConaughy caps off a year of amazing performances (while shown here in 2013, this really belongs to 2012 with Killer Joe and Magic Mike); my biggest surprise were the side characters, the town folk who I thought were actors turned out to be real people talking about the people on which this film is really based on.
