Review of Beowulf & Grendel (2005) by Lindsay W — 04 Apr 2008
A more intricate and grounded storyline than the more recent film, or even the poem itself. Although its treatment of Grendel's mother was perfunctory, and there were some rather odd moments with the local witch, all-in-all it was a well done adaptation with great scenery, realistic-looking props, decent acting and well-choreographed fight scenes.
The accents were rather thick, which gave it a more authentic feel but made it harder to understand.
