Review of Beowulf (2007) by Monet J — 28 Nov 2012
This is possibly the most epic movie you will ever see. They unfortunately advertised it as being a 300 ripoff and luckily it was nowhere near 300's crap quality. This movie takes all your wildest dreams and makes them a reality. You must see it in 3-D and then praise all its glory if you enjoy anything good or great in life.
If you cannot see this in 3-D though, then take three stars off my score. That's right. Three. You are a loser if you even try to see this in 2-D. If you've decided to do this, take three stars off your life as well. You've just ruined a perfectly awesome movie.
However, I did see it in 2-D on FX recently, and it was still pretty damn good. Of course, I had already seen the 3-D version previously, so I could just imagine in all the special effects all over again in this viewing, but don't get the wrong idea. There's a strong story here as well, and don't think that because this movie is better in 3-D means it relies completely on special effects. Because it doesn't.
Perhaps I'm too harsh on you if you see it in 2-D and not 3-D. Take only a half star off if you see it in 2-D and never in 3-D now. However, I'd still strongly recommend you see it in 3-D first, but maybe that's just me.
