Review of Beowulf (1999) by Tyler D — 05 Feb 2012
When I read Beowulf in the 10th grade I found it boring and pointless. Today I am still convinced that it only has its classic status since it's one of the only surviving documents of its historical era.
Neil Gaiman's script for this movie deviates from the original story by adding elements of sexuality and poor moral choices. That made the story pop a bit more for me. Overall, this movie is worth seeing if one can get past the unsettling dead eyes of the CGI cast.
