Review of Benny's Video (1992) by Scott K — 19 Mar 2008
A solid early outing from Michael Haneke. He presents a very provocative and evocative situation to us, and it does have it's value, although, kind of like in "The Seventh Continent", I was very aware Haneke was creating a mystery and not exploring an existing one.
Not to say that there is no truth in it. There was quite a lot. It just didn't add up to being wholly satisfying. The acting is all around great.
