Review of Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) by Pamela D — 16 Jul 2010
Great sequel to Planet Of The Apes, before it all went downhill quickly. James Franciscus, doing one hell of a Charleton Heston impersonation, also lands on the planet, and finds out more about what on earth happened and yes, find out another race of humans existing.
Great fun and memories from this, from the subhuman's mind control to the great sets of New York in ruin. Interesting that Roddy Mcdowall and Kim Hunter have just essentially cameos in this one (Don't worry, you'll be seeing a lot more of them in the further sequels).
This probably has tons and tons of back story. in regards to it's productiion. It still remains my fave POTA movie.
