Post-apocalyptic quest for Charlton Heston leads to bizarre encounters with apes, mutants and illusions in a future Earth. The spiritual revival scenes seem awfully familiar in this movie. Fear of mind control was fresh in the minds of many when this was made 8 years before the Jonestown massacre.
