Review of Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) by Ken T — 15 Jun 2009
This might be the most unnecessary sequel of all time. The first movie ends so perfectly with no story remaining, but Beneath is a perfect example of Hollywood making movies just for the money. This was not as bad as I remembered, but it still might be the weakest entry in the series.
The ending was very uninspired and some parts were unnecessarily disturbing. I think that constant buzzing sound actually gave me a headache. The unabashed anti war theme was also a bit too forced. But by far the highlight of the movie was Nova played by Linda Harrison.
Wow, what a babe.
