From Gurinder Chadha, the maker of Bride and Prejudice, comes another great ethnic comedy: Bend it like Beckham. The movie tells the story of an Indian girl Jess in England who has a real talent for football.
She can even curve a ball like her hero David Beckham. Her traditional Sikh parents just want her to find a nice Indian boy, learn how to cook and get married. Instead the girl manages to play herself into a professional American contract and a free scholarship.
