Review of Bend It Like Beckham (2002) by Leo K — 20 Feb 2010
Intriguing story presented with humor. Compared to other movies centred on teenagers, this is an above-average production, with a meaningful story delivered smoothly. In spite of the sub-par performance by the cast, the producers still maintained satisfactory screenplay.
A better laminated plot could have helped the movie to gain more points. The movie tried to tell audiences stories of different characters with rather different messages to deliver, however, these sub-plots overlapped too much, making it hard to indulge in them.
Also, shots of football matches were poorly mented together and was quite a mess. In conclusion, the movie is average and is not particularly recommended.
