Nice balance of action and story. Decent acting. Dialogue felt a bit flat at first, but got better. A couple bad initial reviews have created an over-critical bandwagon. Everyone I've talked to who has seen it has been pleasantly surprised.

I certainly was. I was expecting over-the-top CGI and drawn-out battles but didn't find that at all. Shipwrecking scene was very well-done, and the famous chariot race lived up to the hype.
