This grand epic won eleven Academy Awards upon it's release in 1959, and any educated viewer can easily interpret why. It's an amazingly impressive film, and for it's time it would have been a film that had the audience completely mesmerised in the experience.

Charlton Heston embodies the character perfectly, expressing love, hate and every other emotion under the sun amazingly. The larger than life, technicolor cinematography is very much a marvel to look at, Miklós Rózsa's magnificent score heightens the experience and the Chariot Race sequence in particular really has you on the edge of your seat.

The movie contains multiple themes, but the most plainly seen one is the old idea that faith completely absolves you of hate or lust for vengeance. What goes on in the scenes can be predictable, but it's simply the way they are done which makes it so enjoyable.

I reccomend this to anyone.
