Review of Ben-Hur (1959) by Tim G — 30 Mar 2009
An epic movie to end all epics, especially in the sets: most of them are gorgeous, even if they are obviously sets. The music and dramatic overacting in places just remind us that it was filmed in the '50s, but don't detract too much.
And the chariot scene definitely still holds the attention and quickens the heartbeat, even after all these years and all the digital technology.
