Review of Belle Époque (1992) by New Nurse Michelle — 16 May 2008
The Penelope Cruz Rule: only see her Spanish films because her English ones are crap. Belle Epoque was great though, an idyll set in the Spanish countryside where a young soldier gone AWOL makes his way through four sisters (including a lesbian, in a strange cross-dressing hay-roll).
Fernando's look of bewilderment as he ends up shagging one sister after another is priceless.
