Review of Belle (2013) by Barry S — 19 May 2014
Historical fiction based on the story of Dido Elizabeth Belle the mixed race daughter of a British aristocrat and an enslaved African woman. A story affirming of women's and racial freedoms set in a time distant from general access to such liberties.
Well acted and beautifully presented the story is somewhat weakened by it's somewhat anachronistic positive ending.
