Review of Belle (2013) by Borhan K — 31 Dec 2014
Belle. A modern day masterpiece of a retelling of a very critical time in the world's history. Slavery and what station it had and how and who & what it takes to defuse such a ridiculous law.
This is a very powerful telling of a true story about a young mixed race women and how she takes one of the major steps in bringing gender and race & colour equality to the world.
This is a movie that all history teachers and even teachers of religion should also be showing to their students to show that even though we are different in so many ways the one aspect that binds us together is love, love for one another without prejudice and hate.
We should be able to educate ourselves of the unknown and not fear the unknown but learn and understand the differences that each of us have and learn to bind our differences together and be united as human beings.
Although this movie is rated G I would recommend that young children should be watching the movie with their parental units as the subject matter is not child orientated.
100% recommend this film.
