Review of Bell, Book and Candle (1958) by Corey N — 14 Aug 2011
This film starring James Stewart and Kim Novak comes across as a episode of Bewitched. Stewart meets his neighbor Novak who is a witch. She becomes smitten with him and cast a spell to make him fall in love with her.
This film is sort of a romantic comedy. Stewart and Novak have chemistry since coming from their previous film Vertigo.The film also has a decent supporting cast with Jack Lemmon, Elsa Lanchester and Ernie Kovacs.
The story is a bit odd at times and there are some funny moments. I have seen much better romantic comedies but this is worth seeing just for James Stewart performance. A film for Stewart and Novak fans.
