Review of Being There (2011) by Prasad P — 08 Jan 2009
A superb social satire with a brilliant Peter Sellers in what would become his most poignant performance and also his last great screen appearance. He plays a simpleton gardener Chance, a man with no life except for what he knows in the garden and from snippets he sees on TV.
When his master dies, he is cast out of his home, with fate leading him to the doorstep of rich powerbrokers who mistake his simple knowledge for great wisdom. A brilliant, biting social comedy with great insight and humanity.
