Review of Being Julia (2004) by Ed P — 17 Feb 2005
This was a picture that I went into knowing nothing about, other than it was set in 1930s London. .
This was one of those rare occasions where during the course of the film, the actors stop being themselves. After the first 20 minutes Annette Bening was no longer Annette Bening, but was Julia. Much like the whole thing, it slowly sucks you into the world that it creates. .
(it also may make you long for those long ago halcyon days).
