Review of Being Julia (2004) by Emily H — 12 Jun 2010
A pretty good picture wrapped around a great, Oscar-contender performance. nnete Bening has never been more amazing and more controlling. Annette Bening is astonishing! This is such an elegant, artistic portrait of a diva wannabe.
Very nicely made... Being Julia is a smartly written movie about an actress and her way threw her relations in middle age. To start talking i'll begin with the best thing in this movie which is Annette Bening's AMAZING performence! Even if you don't like watching this kind of movies, watching annette bening acting here is a feast for every moviegoer.
She wasn't even acting, she was so natural you forget you are watching a movie and feel that you're sitting with her. And the last theatre scene she was marvellous. As for the screenplay, it was fairly written.
