Review of Being Julia (2004) by Jacqueline P — 26 May 2008
Really, Julia is not a likable character. But Annette Bening plays her with such bravura and spunk that we're sucked into her world, just like all the characters moving about her in the film are. That is great acting.
Production values are spotless and the supporting cast is top-notch (special mentions must go to Juliet Stevenson and Tom Sturridge). It's quite a romp.
