Review of Being John Malkovich (1999) by Kevin M. W — 24 Aug 2011
This review is coming after about a month. I can say that the concept was of course, brilliant. However, much like Synecdoche New York, the grinding nihilism and constant pleasure seeking was hard for me to bear.
"Life ultimately ends in death, so let's live through other people for own selfish purposes so we can't die." Ech. Sorry. The three stars are for its quality, certainly not any enjoyment I got out of the film or any appreciation for its ultimately nietzschean message.
