Review of Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006) by Kyle F — 01 Sep 2008

Shallow, but fun to watch, this movie delivers in its ability to mock the horror genre while at the same time create a very captivating concept of a sort of "behind the scenes" look at the creation of a slasher scenario.

Aside from the lead acting by Nathan Baesel, and some decent performances from the film crew, the acting in this movie left some to be desired, but it seemed to add to the cheesy, nostalgic comedy the movie was going for (playing off horror classics like "nightmare on elm street," "halloween," and "friday the 13th").

All in all, I've got to give the film points for being creative, but it really fails to deliver in it's climax as it becomes entirely too predictable.
