This is a very interesting take on serial killer movies with a post-modern feel similar to Scream and New Nightmare. Leslie Vernon is one of the genre's most engaging characters, much much more than the one-dimensional scarecrows he likes so much and Nathan Baesel does an excellent job. Unfortunately, once Leslie begins to ...realize his dream he seems to lose much of that eeriness that surrounded him in the first part. I would say this is because the gore and scares are minimal and you no longer feel that (physically) threatened. This movie was released 6 years ago and has built up a nice following. Makes sense.

Dvd Extras include, among other, about 8 minutes of deleted scenes and they are 8 good minutes.
