Review of Behind the Candelabra (2013) by Tor M — 28 Feb 2014
TV-film where we meet a very talented pianist named Lee or Liberace. It's based on a true story (or something), but no real names here as I've figured it.
The pianist we get to know is quite old and also quite gay. He (Douglas) gets serious with Scott (Damon) and we are up for some action of some sort.
The actors often share screentime and it's quite believeable and well acted. The story is bizarre and filled with luxury and it's an ok film in many ways. With that said - it's most interesting feature is when the two very well known actors make out, give each other looks and.
Other stuff. Still, this is destroying the movie a bit - it could have been better with lesser known actors. It's a good thing we get some other cool characters on the screen at times too.
A funny film (intentional or not) with very interesting costumes. That sums up the film pretty good for me.
6 out of 10 blingy things.
