Review of Begotten (1991) by Leah Y — 17 Jul 2007
This film is absoloutely the most dark, minimalistic, disturbing film I have seen or am ever likely to see during my lifetime. From the opening scene of God's suicide by disembowelment I was completely captivated. I was blown away with the film's production and the picture that they were able to achieve through manipulation, and its intelligence.
It compeletely subverts anything I once though was disturbing. I give this movie a very high rating for its ability to speak volumes, and to immerse the viewer in an extremely pensive state. It is much more a piece of art rather than a recreational piece. Those who chose to watch this must do so with a very open mind.
