Review of Before the Rain (1994) by Gregor Y — 17 Jul 2008
One of those crawling, uninteresting, plotless films that offers different, sorta-related-but-not-really cross-sections pertaining to a central issue (similar to Babel), this time pertaining to Balkan ethnic violence.
It intersperses slow-moving build-up scenes with violence that is as senseless as it is sudden, and this unevenness in pacing was the biggest detractor for me.
