Review of Before the Flood (2016) by Brad S — 16 Nov 2016
Really compelling film begging for us all to save our world from potential climate disaster. I really appreciated DiCaprio's transparent emotions and his dedication to this issue. It's hard to feel optimistic after so much pessimism during the majority of the film. When will we finally reach the tipping point politically to take on this issue and not just deny it or push it forward for someone else to solve? That's the underlying question and message I felt like the movie wants to address. It sort of does. But with nationalism coming on strong in countries all over the world, will global issues just continue to take a back burner?
Great documentary filmmaking by director Fisher Stevens, that's for sure. I loved the intro and close, the music, and all the interviews. Stevens and his team produced and edited a fine film.
