Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Sergio R — 16 Jul 2013
The magnificent sequel of a magnificent film, Before Sunset gives again flawless performances from its two leads Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke with one of the best screenplays ever in a romance. Exploring its characters with depth and giving us multi-dimensional personalities of a person with contradictions and secrets just like in the normal life.
It expands the universe of its predecessor and never tries to give to the spectators a surreal fantasy like every romance, no, it shows a natural showcase of ideas and thought-provoking questions about human behavior, world politics, personal interiority, privacy, future and engagement. A brief and extraordinary film with unique honesty.
