Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Momo S — 14 Sep 2013
Unaware at a time, I saw Before Sunset before its predecessor, Before Sunrise. My reaction was how did they get Ethan Hawke to look so young in the flashbacks in the movie? Anyhow, the film is truly a gem and it has a permanent place on my favorite romance shelf.
The storyline is so simple as we observe the reunited couple walk along a street and a park in Paris. Sometimes, simple thing is the most beautiful thing. I honestly can't think of any movie that epitomizes this idea better than Before Sunset.
The ending scene is superbly presented with Delpy's ravishing and languid dance to Nina Simone's low key alluring voice; the dance was under caressed gaze of Jesse and his concession to his need to catch a flight.
What scene could be more romantic?
