Review of Before Sunset (2004) by Alex M — 05 Nov 2013
The chemistry between Hawke and Delpy is still ever-present here, and the screenplay still remains basically flawless, but I just didn't find their encounter as engaging as I thought it would be. However, everything still feels absolutely natural - you don't question a word they say, and honestly, many of their conversations offer a lot of insight.
Despite the short length and less engaging dialogue, though, this is still a great success; it builds off its predecessor without feeling forced in any way, and that in and of itself is an achievement.
